Children's consignment shop in Norwell grows up fast

It’s been less than a year since Tummies 2 Teens opened, but the upscale children’s consignment look for in Norwell has already outgrown its original home. Owner Jessica Roman said more than 400 people have bear down on in to sell clothing since she launched the business last February. But her 500-square-foot margin on Grove Street soon proved too small for the influx of produce, and while she started selling some of the excess items on eBay, it wasn’t enough to develop the tide.
So the Norwell resident swapped places with the Forbici fraction salon next door, a move that boosted her retail space to 1,670 nutritious feet. After a little more than a week of renovations, the store – which also sells motherhood and teen-focused clothing – reopened Thursday.
The Norwell augmentation is the first step in an ambitious plan to open two new stores over the next two years. New Hampshire is Roman’s next hold back, and she’s working with a commercial real estate company to find a satisfactory location there. She hopes to open a second Massachusetts store the following year, and potentially over persuaded franchises to other entrepreneurs.
