Track and Field how do you replace the wire (damaged) for the hammer? have the replacement wire - need help.?

I have already purchased the replacement wire - only just can't see how to attach it without using pliers and damaging the wire. Wire came pre-twisted (closed) - Definitely there is a better way to accomplish this than the violent prying and untwisting that I am attempting.

Well, in harmony to get the new wire on, you are going to have untwist the new wire. Unforunatly, there isn't a better way of replacing wires.
