What can I do to pass/receive the baton better in track?

I run the 4 by 200m relay in winter track at my drill, and I always get nervous for the baton passes. Are there any quick tips to help me d/receive more efficiently and with less chance of dropping the baton. Thanks.
This depends on the order of hand off exchange your team uses. Some use a blind and some use an unconcealed exchange.
The most important thing is for the out going runner to persuade a stationary platform so that the in coming runner doesn't have to find your turn over.
